Purpose

    • Kindergarten Whole Group Program
    • Grades K-4: At home enrichment projects and activity packets
    • Grades 1-4: EAE Program focusing on curriculum-based, long term, independent projects
    • Grades 1-4: REACH Program focusing on content-based activities that foster higher order thinking skills
    • Monthly Brain Busters (open to all students)

Eligibility Criteria
The Montvale Public School District, in accordance with state guidelines, utilizes the following eligibility criteria to identify students for the Extra Academic Enrichment Program:
  • Performance on the GRADE, GMADE, standardized tests, and other school-based group diagnostic screening tests
  • Renzulli Behavioral Rating Scale (completed by the classroom teacher)
  • Renzulli Behavioral Rating Scale and survey (completed by parents/guardians)
  • Performance on the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test
  • Work samples that demonstrate higher-level thinking and creative problem-solving skills may be provided by the classroom teacher
  • Interview/observation data from meetings with students and/or the classroom teachers may occur
Each area is reviewed by the Extra Academic Enrichment Screening Committee. Performance is weighted accordingly.
